How to connect a column to the phone

The speakers built into the smartphone allow you to listen to music through special applications. In most cases, headphones are used for this purpose. But in some situations it becomes necessary to use a smartphone as a stereo system. To enhance the sound power connected speakers.

Can I connect the speakers to the phone

Acoustic systems for fixed devices (for example, a computer or a music center) are not suitable for a telephone for two main reasons:

  • the presence of a single mini-jack 3,5 mm jack, to which you can connect only the simplest stereo pair 2.0;
  • limiting the type of speakers used.

Of the two existing types (active and passive) for a smartphone, only active speakers with a built-in amplifier are suitable.

Reference! Passive speakers are powered by a phone battery, which, when turned on, quickly loses its charge.

Indoors, you can use ordinary speakers powered by an electrical network as an amp. For mobile connectivity, special portable models have been created that are charged by batteries or an internal battery.

What are the ways to connect

To date, there are two main ways to connect speakers to the phone:

  • wired via audio cable or AUX cable;
  • wireless - via Bluetooth.

The first type is used by some manufacturers of smartphones less and less. However, the sound is transmitted through the wire in much better quality, so the corresponding connector still remains with the leading manufacturers of gadgets.

The second method is present in all smartphones, tablets and many mobile phones. It is considered universal, but at the same time more energy-intensive.

Reference! IPhone smartphones have their own docking stations, serving as compact speakers with a wireless connection.

Depending on the speakers

For the wired connection, an audio cable is used, with two ends of which contain 3.5 mm connectors. Near the connector on the speaker there is always the inscription AUX, which confirms its purpose (for connecting an audio cable). One end of the cable is inserted into the connector on the gadget, the other - on the speaker.

Another type of wired connection is via a micro USB cable. One end of the cable ends with a micro USB connector, the other end with a regular USB. The micro-USB connector is available on most modern smartphones, except the iPhone with its own docking connectors. The micro-USB connector is inserted into the corresponding slot on the phone, USB - on the speaker.

The disadvantage of wired devices is their limited mobility. If necessary, you need to move the column and move the smartphone. But this is offset by excellent sound quality without distortion and an economical battery consumption. Battery consumption in the wired mode is identical to the consumption when listening to music through headphones.

For wireless connection, Bluetooth speakers are used, having a compact size. At the same time, they reproduce high-quality wide-range sound. The maximum distance of the speaker from the phone with a wireless connection is always greater than the length of any cable with a wired connection. However, the cost of Bluetooth-models significantly higher prices speakers with cable connectors.

Important! Speakers for your phone should be selected according to the corresponding indicators of power and resistance. The error can cause damage to the speaker or the sound processor of the smartphone.

To enhance the volume of the phone when listening to a song, 5-6 W of power is sufficient, which provide a good volume. Resistance devices, as a rule, does not exceed 4 ohms.

Connecting speakers to the phone: step by step

Wired:

  1. Include column.
  2. Insert one end of the 3.5 mm audio cable into the telephone jack.
  3. The second end of the 3.5mm cable is to the speaker connector.
  4. Wait for a message on the speaker to appear on the phone screen.

Wireless:

  1. Turn on the Bluetooth column.
  2. Find the control panel in your smartphone.
  3. Go to the Bluetooth button, press and hold to activate Bluetooth.
  4. Press the Search button on the smartphone.
  5. A list of all Bluetooth-enabled devices in the reception area appears on the screen. Click on the model name of the wireless device.
  6. When synchronization starts, the system may require code entry. It can be found on the device's passport table.
  7. The following connection will occur automatically when Bluetooth is activated.

With any chosen method, the load on the phone battery increases. Therefore, when choosing a gadget, music lovers should prefer models with a large battery capacity.
