It is difficult to imagine an industrial or commercial complex without a warehouse. It performs many functions - product storage, convenient search and unhindered access.
When choosing a system of rack structures, it is necessary to take into account the features, purpose, characteristics of the warehouse, then the entire available area of the room will be maximally and optimally used.
The main types of racking systems in stock
Shelf. The design is collapsible, consists of side frames, cargo beams, shelves. It is made of durable material, therefore it can withstand heavy weights. A common type for trading floors, supermarkets.
Frontal Universal system for storing goods with a wide range of products on pallets, pallets. Thanks to a number of additional devices it allows you to design racks according to your needs.
Stacked. Adjustable vertical frames, which, depending on the characteristics of the product, change the height, the distance between the transverse beams. Used to store homogeneous goods.
Dynamic, operational. The goods are moved along the conveyor to the place of unloading due to their own weight. Optimal for storing a small assortment of goods with a limited shelf life. Optimal use of the useful area of the warehouse, the processing time of the goods is reduced.
Cantilever. Due to the design, it is convenient to store non-standard, bulky, long loads. Optimum for metal rolling.
Special. They are made specifically for a specific order. Used when standard systems cannot be used due to non-standard shapes or dimensions of the goods.
Even with such a variety of storage systems and differences in designs, the installation, which is described in detail by the manufacturer's instructions, is about the same.
Assembly and installation steps, testing
- According to the developed and approved plan, pre-installation marking is applied using polymer tape in the room. It is necessary to exclude hit of anchor fastenings on seams or joints of flooring slabs, places where internal fittings pass. The marking lines themselves are beaten off with the help of geodetic instruments. During this stage, errors that occurred during measurements come up.
IMPORTANT! Installation, assembly work is carried out in accordance with the manufacturer's working documentation. Any changes and adjustments to the plan should also be agreed.
- If no errors were detected at the first stage, then go to the next stage, where the supporting structures of the rack system are assembled - racks, braces, stiffeners. For convenience, they are moved to a horizontal position. Depending on the requirements, the supporting structural elements are made monolithic, or detachable. The former are stronger, more reliable, the latter are more popular - they give the construction mobility.
- Frames are assembled, the first level beams are mounted on them. Then the remaining levels of the structure are assembled, coupled series connectors are attached.
- We align the horizontal and vertical structural elements. In case of deviation, the position is corrected by the adjustment plates. After that, the heel plates are fastened to the floor with anchor bolts. These products have more reliable performance. Sometimes chemical anchors are used, which do not loosen even under the influence of strong side effects.
ATTENTION! For safe operation of the structure, all stages must be carried out in strict accordance with the safety requirements established by the standards.
Preparing a place for mounting racks
Before starting installation for the guaranteed high-quality installation of the system, the requirements for flooring are:
- The slope per linear meter should not be more than 2 mm;
- The coating thickness should not be thinner than 120 mm;
- Concrete grade no lower than 400.
To bring the flooring in line with these requirements, adjustments are made during the installation process. For example, with minor deviations, metal leveling plates are used, with significant deviations, additional layers of concrete are added.
The assembly of multi-section storage racks should be carried out by specialized workers who have certain knowledge and skills that have a QMS approval for installation work.
Each step should be closely monitored. This is due to the fact that the price of the error is high - in the case of poor installation, people in the room may suffer.
